Commemorating 50 years of profound impact and providing a shining beacon for the Inclusion Revolution, the Eternal Flame of Hope monument is the newest addition to Chicago’s world-class public art collection. Featuring a custom design by renowned sculptor Richard Hunt, the monument welcomes millions of visitors each year to its prominent location at the main entrance of the Museum Campus and Soldier Field. The sculpture rises 30 feet into the air and features an eternal flame, burning perpetually to honor athletes past, present & future as a symbol of hope and inclusivity.

The permanent monument plaza and sculpture was dedicated at a special ceremony on July 20, 2018. The monument’s landscaped plaza and donor recognition walls are inscribed with the names of supporters from around the world who have helped to “light the flame.”
